A Card and My Weekend Flea Market Score!!

I finally got my little hands on one of the new Stampin Up sets out of the new catty called "For All You Do". This is a very versatile set that I am sure I will be reaching for again and again. For this card I used the new In-Colors Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo. I will admit I was not crazy about the In-Colors when I first saw them online, but now that I have all of the ink pads and have seen the colors for myself they really are beautiful! I used my Stampamajig to place the 3 dot squares on the left hand side of my card. I tried to eyeball it but that didn't work out well, and after having to re-cut 3 pieces of card stock I knew I would have to get out my Stampamajig. I sponged "Soft Suede" around the scalloped oval. The sentiment was stamped on a square piece of card stock, and then I used a small wooden dowel to curl the ends for the "scroll" and again I used a sponge to distress the edges.

Now on to my SUPER flea market finds!!

I bought everything in this picture for $10, yep, can you believe that?A scrolls acrylic stamp set, 7 Cuttlebug Cuttle Kids dies, 3 very nice Cuttlebug Metal Dies, several packs of fancy Prima Flowers and rhinestones, and several packs of misc stickers and rub-ons. I could not believe it! Now, we went to another flea market and I found this:

Yup, a Cricut Expression!! I was jumping for joy (inside of course), and took a gamble since I bought it used, but we got it home, plugged it in, and I have been cutting out flowers and letters every since. LOL. Now, what did I pay for it you ask, well, it was more then $10..lol No, I talked them down from $125, down to $90. What an awesome deal!!! I am planning on purchasing the SVG software so that I can cut out any shape, letter, and design possible so that I won't have to buy the expensive cartridges. So all in all I would say this past weekend was a BIG success! I will be selling most of the $10 lot on Ebay and using that to pay for my Cricut so I am very excited about that! Anyways, thank you for sharing in my joy! Have a great day and thank you for visiting my blog!

{Welcome Baby Samantha!} *No peeking LeAnn*

Two of the dearest people in my life are expecting, and as you can already tell from the title of my post have had Baby Girls. One of my closest life long friends LeAnn and her hubby just welcomed Baby Samantha this week. So, I bought a baby themed clear acrylic stamp set by Hampton Art at Michaels on Tuesday so I could make welcome baby cards. This set is so cute and I know I will use it a ton. The DP is from Paper Trey, and the card stock is SU Cameo Coral. I used my Janome Sew mini to create the "quilted block" effect. I stamped the baby bundle on the DP so that I could paper piece it to add dimension and color to the stamped image. I am so happy with the way this card turned out and can't wait to send it to LeAnn! Thank you so much for checking out my blog today and have a great week!

Busy Bee Bloggers Weekly Challenge #1

Hello Everyone and welcome to the first EVER Busy Bee Bloggers Weekly Challenge! I will be hosting the first weekly challenge. I will type out a list with the weekly challenge that everyone in the Busy Bee Blogging group will be responsible for hosting and post it on my blog this week. You get to decide what the challenge will be!

For this weeks challenge I made it pretty simple. All you have to do is create a card with a 3-D object of some kind. On my card I added pop dots to the balloons to make them "pop" out! For this card I used DP from the Target Dollar Spot, and an adorable set I bought at Michaels this weekend called "Hap Bee Day" by Stampendous. It is a clear set and was only 4.99 and it wasn't even on sale! This card is for my Nephew Ethan who will be turning five on Sep. 1st! I hope all of you have a wonderful week! Please don't forget to comment on each others blogs Busy Bee Bloggers! It is so nice to see that your work is appreciated. =) I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

A Beautiful Day!

I made today's card for the upcoming 8th Birthday of my Neice Cheyenne! I can't believe she is going to be 8, and that she will be baptized as well. What a special age! I used a clear set I bought on clearance at Target. The glitter paper is from a DCWV glitter stack that I bought at the flea market for .25! The embossed background image was made using the Fiskars Texture plates and my Cuttlebug. I didn't even use water to get the impression this time. The paper was thinner then SU card stock and that seemed to do the trick. I ♥ my Fiskars plates!

{Stampin' It Up - Ol' School}

I recently bought several retired Stamp Sets off of Craigslist for a GREAT price (Thanks Jessica!) and the cards I am featuring today were made from two of the sets! The first card was made with the Stampin Up set " Weather or Not". I used my Martha Stewart dew drop ink pads and individually inked up each umbrella.
It took awhile, but I love the colorful end result! The background was the CB Swiss Dots folder, and I used my Janome Sew Mini for the stitching. I accented the card with colorful buttons! I've been on a button kick lately, hehe. All in all I am pleased with how the card turned out!

This is the second card I made using my "new" Stamp sets, and it features the SU set "Garden Collage". I used the SU Background set "Fine Lace" that I stamped in Close to Cocoa ink. I love the texture that it added to the card. The flower and butterfly were colored with ink and my aqua painter, and then I used Ranger Crackle Accents to add a neat "cracked glass" look to the flower and butterfly.

I love how it turned out! I hope that you have a fantastic week and thank you for visiting my blog!

The Busy Bee Bloggers!

I decided to start a new Blogging Group for people like me that just don't have the time to update my blog every day but would still like to be a part of a group of bloggers. So, I came up with "The Busy Bee Bloggers". I am so excited to have 6 people (including myself) in the group all ready! If you are someone that only posts to your blog 2-4 times a week then we would love to have you join the "Bee's"! For those of you that have already joined, I created a fun little badge you can post on your own blogs if you want to.

Cute huh? Anywho, I look forward to meeting everyone and I hope you are having a great weekend!

{Couldn't Have Said it Better}

Another week is almost over! This week I have been taking an extra effort to spend more time in my card room. This week I completed a cute little project for a dear friend that I will post pics of as soon as she receives it. (She checks this blog and I don't wanna give away the surprise!) I love sending happy mail!
For today's cards I used Stampin Up set "Edgy Eloquence", and paper from the Target Dollar spot! Can I say again how much I love the $ spot!? lol. Well, I do. I accented both cards with buttons that I picked up at Big Lots. I love the quotes from these cards: "Laugh and the world laughs with you, Cry and you cry with your girlfriends." SO, SO true! The second card says " Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we're here we might as well dance." That describes my life right now to a T! I hope these cards made you smile, and I hope you are having a wonderful week. Thank you for visiting my blog!
